Active Zone Outdoor, organization based in Larnaka, is offering a unique opportunity for young people to engage in paid volunteer work in Larnaka, Cyprus. This opportunity spans from August 2024 to July 2025 (arrival and departure are flexible) and is part of the “Active Sports Solidarity Spirit Vol. IV” project, funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme.

What will you do?
- Design and organise sport activities and events
- Organise environmental initiatives
- Participate in outdoor sport such as rock climbing, SUP, hiking, beach tennis etc.
- Implement sport activities for people with disabilities
- Develop project ideas
- Manage social media and website content
- Engage in cultural exchange activities
Participation in Active Sports Solidarity Spirit initiative can help you to develop a range of skills and knowledge:
- Organisational skills: Assist in organising outdoor sports events, games, and competitions, improving your ability to manage and coordinate activities.
- Project management: Improve your management skills through involvement in project design and idea development.
- Communication skills: Enhance your communication abilities by organising events and working with the local community and people with fewer opportunities.
- Knowledge on active citizenship, democracy, and social inclusion: Develop initiatives and workshops on these topics, gaining a deeper understanding of their importance.
- Environmental awareness: Improve your green skills and expand your knowledge of environmental initiatives.
- Content creation: Engage your creativity by contributing to social media management and website editing, enhancing your dissemination skills.
- English proficiency: Significantly improve your English through a year-long stay abroad.
What support will you receive?
During your stay in Larnaca, you will stay in a 3-bedroom apartment with 2 more volunteers. Your work will take place in the offices of Active Zone Outdoor, within easy reach and with transport support from the organisation’s members.
Monthly allowance: 450 €
Travel costs (return flight) will be reimbursed up to 360 €.
Arrival to Larnaca is flexible with possible start in August – September 2024.
